This mod simply adds effects.

Saruman does Magic damage instead of Sword Slash damage.

It may give a slight advantage in combat vs. Heroes, as there is a percentage chance that the enemy will be knocked back (like a troll hit).

This mod should not affect the game balance.

Instructions:
Using a BIG Editor, Extract the original INI.BIG file to:
C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth File

Then rename that file to:
INImod2.BIG

Edit that file, deleting the:
weapons.ini
file, and replace it with this one (Edit - Add File).

Works with BFME 1.0

Not tested on any other version, but it should work just fine. I prefer the original version of the game (it's balanced).

Edit your desktop icon,

Shortcut to
The Battle for
Middle-earth
(tm)

so that the 'Target' reads:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Battle for Middle-earth (tm)\lotrbfme.exe" -mod INImod2.big

...and,

so that the 'Start In' reads:

"C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Application Data\My Battle for Middle-earth Files"

Click 'Okay,' and that should do it. The mod is installed!
