Introduction
This tutorial will explain how to use Subversion (from now on called SVN) to efficiently work on a mod with multiple people. SVN is a versioning system, which means that members can upload and download files to a server, which keeps backups of older versions.

Why use SVN?

  • With a SVN client, everybody can quickly download the entire mod
  • Members can easily edit a file and upload ("Commit") it back to the server, after which the other members and/or players can download this new version
  • The server keeps all old versions of files, so you can easily go a step back if you encounter a weird error or crash
  • Multiple users can work on files, without the risk of conflicts. This is because files can be locked.
