OK, so now you have the playertemplate.ini down. But now, as you notice, you go into play the game with your new faction, and you go to choose it and the display name says 'MISSING:INI:FACTIONHOBBIT'. That is because you must edit the lotr.str to make the name display 'hobbits'. So to do this, you will first need a finalbig editor, which you can download on this site. After you have it, go to the main bfme2 (or rotwk) directory. Go to the 'lang' folder. Open up english.big. Lotr.str is there, but you cannot edit it as it is. So go to edit- extract- desktop, or anywhere really, desktop just makes it easier to find. After you have done this, open lotr.str with notepad or some writing format, notepad I find the easiest for coding personally, but anyway, find the lines that look like this-
doesn't have to be that, but just look for those lines. once you have found them, add this line of code after the END line.
the name in quotations is what it will display in the game. Now move onto the next page, and we will begin editing science.ini. Links / Downloads

Emperor of the East - Wednesday October 10, 2012 - 20:52 Something's up with the playertemplate.ini file. Every time I download the preconverted packages, I open the playertemplate file to find that it looks nothing like what I need. May I have some help solving this problem, please?
