Forged Blades - Basic Setup

Setting up the forged blades for units is pretty easy. Follow these steps and you should not have any problems :)

1. Find an EA model that has the FORGED_BLADE object in it. They come in various sizes and positions so find one that best suits your unit.

2. Once imported, position the object in the center of your weapon (look at EA models for inspiration).

3. Ok, so this is what the FORGED_BLADE object should look like when in the right position.

4. This step is entirely optional. I generally like to make the glow of the Forged Blade to be more subtle and more like the shape of the weapon. So I edited the FORGED_BLADE object and made it look like this:

Again, the step is completely optional and it's more of a user preference thing. Here's how the unedited FORGED_BLADE object looks compared to my edited version:

5. Bind the model to the proper bone. Simply use the WWskin method and bind it.

Check out the next page for the proper Forged Blade texture settings!

Well my video sucks, so keep that, or rewrite it using the EA method, it's as you want :)

No, I tired the method used by EA and it doesn't turn out right at all. I find my method to work the best.

Nah, it works perfectly ;)
I'll write a little thing to explain you, and you'll be able to edit this tuto (if you want :p).
