Recently you announced a Heraldry Contest for the mod. Care to elaborate?
We thought it would be a good opportunity to allow people get get in on production of the mod. Plus, Nert needed some more Erebor designs for his base ;)


Why did you decide to involve the community in this way?
People tend to be a good source of ideas, even though we have a couple of people working on designs we still have a very defined style. The public should provide some refreshingly different ideas in Dwarf heraldry, which will help break up a faction that is modeled by one or two people.


Do you think there will be more contests in the future?
It is possible. Can't say what, but people seem to like them.


How is the contest being held?
The contest is being held in a simple forum manner - people will have two weeks (down to one and a half now) to submit designs. At the end of this period, the people will vote on what makes it in, there being between three and five winning designs (depending on what kind of entry numbers we see)


How is the team involved in the contest?
We're not really involved. Aside from the design and essentially moderating the discussion, all entries are going to be fan based


Are there plans to use the submitted insignias on other buildings?
That depends on how good they are and how willing I am to go back and tweak textures.


Does the concept of community submitted insignias reflect the gameplay of the Erebor faction?
To a certain extent. It certainly reflects the style, which is that of a very loose collection of Dwarves that can be easily called together in times of crisis or great need to cooperate and build/fight or whatever happens to be needed.
